A mug rug
Here it is! My first mug rug.
A mini placemat (or is it large coaster?) for your coffee/tea mug and pastry.
It measures about 6" x 10".
And is a perfect little project for practicing your quilting skills.
This one will be paired with a coffee shop gift certificate and given to a 1st grade teacher for her birthday.

P's & Q's
This will be the month of P's and Q's. . . pillows and quilts, that is.
Here is my very first pillow ever.

It has a foundation pieced center, piping, a lapped zipper and is quilted with a crisscross design on the diagonal.

I've stayed away from sewing quilts because they take more time to complete than what I like (or have) but why had I never thought to make quilted pillows before!? They sew up fairly quickly and are very satisfying to make. This month I will be experimenting with different types of quilting techniques on pillows that will then be gifted to very dear boys and girls. Oh, sew fun!
