A FUN Sewing Project: A Quilted Pillow with a GIVEAWAY!

It's a snow day in Denver today; a perfect day to make something fun!
How about a pillow?

Pocket Full of Fun Pillow Workshop

Round patch pocket.
In January I completed a workshop for Craftsy* called "Pocket Full of Fun Pillow". It's a quilted pillow with a pocket to hold a toy, a book, or a special treasure. The pillow can be made for a child and makes a perfect gift, especially if you place something special in the pocket. Handmade gifts are the best! The pillow can be made for an adult as well and comes in handy when you need a pillow for support while you read a book, write in a journal, or watch T.V.

"Shirt" patch pocket.
The Pocket Full of Fun Pillow is a great project for a beginner sewer or for someone who knows how to sew and wants to make a simple and quick project. The pillow construction is simple and straight-forward and the pocket is fun and unique. A bonus is that you'll also learn how to quilt the pillow front!

In the Pocket Full of Fun Pillow Workshop, I have included practical sewing tips and creative tips to help you along. Once you sign up for the workshop you have unlimited access to the instructions and you can ask me questions whenever you want. It's all set up so we can interact and I'm here to help you just in case you get stuck and need some help or guidance. You can also takes notes, add tips, and start a discussion right on your online workshop page.

Back side of the pillow with an embellished envelop closure.
I have a special discounted price of $9.99 for my friends who sign up for my Pocket Full of Fun Pillow Workshop. (Click on any of the links on this post or on the Craftsy badge on the side bar to get that price.)

GIVEAWAY!!!
I am also giving away one free Pocket Full of Fun Pillow Workshop. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what you like to make or what you want to learn to make. I will randomly pick a winner next week on Friday, February 10, 2011.

Thanks so much for your support!

  2. Hi Claudia,
    Love this pillow :)
I like to make things that aren't too adventurous, or I find I get scared of each new step and it can take months to finish something!
I have been knitting over the winter but am keen to get back into sewing with some things for Phoebe's room. She is all about putting things into and taking things out of pockets/ boxes/ air vents so this would be perfect for her :)
    Ciao mama!

  3. Thank you Sara and Helen for your comments! 50/50 chance of winning; what great odds! The best way I could come up with to pick a winner was to ask my 5 year old to select a number. The winner is number 2 which means Helen you are the winner of the Pocket Full of Fun Pillow! Congratulations and I'll be in touch with you!
